This week on Women of the World, we feature Zambia's own Dambisa Moyo. She is one of Africa's most prolific economist. She went from a B.A in Chemistry to attaining a D.Phil in Economics from St. Anthony's college, Oxford University. What a transition! Best know for her controversial book titled Dead Aid. Dambisa Moyo talks about the negative impact foreign aid has on developing nations. I agree with her that, there needs to be more regulations on funds provided to these nations as aid. The best example is the idea of, give a man fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish, feed him for life. It's a great book and opens the floor to discourse on aid and development in developing nations. I would recommend you all to grab a copy of the book and enjoy its contents. She is quite an inspiration based on her accomplishments and intellect. For those interested in the economics path, or aren't quite sure what route suits you best, I suggest you do adequate amount of research on her experiences as a black, female economist. In conclusion, she does all this great work while looking effortlessly fabulous.
