The Women of the World feature was created to celebrate women who continue to impact our society in every aspect. This week, I feature Minna Salami also know as Ms. Afropolitan. I have been following her blog for as long as I can remember. Being a Women's Studies major, I would visit her blog regularly to gain some insights from her latests posts. She is unapologetically vocal on subjects pertaining to gender roles especially in the African society-specifically Nigeria, her home. May I add, she is very decorated with tremendous accomplishments. Read her bio. If you are interested in African feminism, I urge you to visit her blog and get a taste of what she offers. I sometimes disagree with some thought pieces Ms. Afropolitan shares but one thing I know is, she opens up my mind to think deeper about the discussion at hand. Read a recent post of hers on tradition and African feminism. How do they intertwine and how does it play a role in the life of women in said society. Minna is quite active on the social media. You can follow her on twitter for updates.
