1) Maki-Oh: Nigeria
Amaka Osakwe does a great job of mixing creative designs and prints. From the First lady of the USA, Solange Knowles and the Fashionistas with great style, Maki-Oh's designs have been buzzing globally. She is paving the way for African designers into the international market. I love her designs because of it's complex simplicity. The colors are a perfect blend and one can see the detail in her work. It may not be in my price range at the moment, but a girl can only dream of owning an item of hers. One day!

2) Lisa Folawiyo: Nigeria
Only lord knows how long I have been wanting a Lisa Folawiyo piece of clothing. I initially fell in love with the brand when it was Jewel by Lisa. The embellishments were everything. They were simple yet made a statement. She has definitely improved overtime and continues to shell out great collections. I have yet to see a collection I didn't like. Maybe she decided to design just for Kesh lol. I even asked my Nigerian friend to go to her store in Lagos to buy me something. He looked at me like I was crazy. Her latest collection was just amazing! I can see myself wearing every single piece of item displayed. The price range is also a bit stiff but I understand the amount of time and detail put into the work so it's only right. Hopefully Lisa will read this and mail me one as a gift :).HA!

3) Loza Maleombho: Ivory Coast
Loza makes the kente material look like gold! Ok, the authentic Kente material is pretty major. I luckily own one. I can only imagine the amount of time and hardwork she puts to create and design her collections. Her recent collection was pretty cool I should say. The styling was different and unique but very true to the brand. I would wear some of the pieces separately but her Kente blazers would always be a fave of mine. Check her out here.

4) Sophie Zinga: Senegal
Simplicity, sexiness, serene are the words I would use to describe the brand Sophie Zinga. I love how neat her designs look. Add lace to anything, you have my heart. I look forward to what she has installed for us. You can get more info about the brand here.
