With 2015 being the 10th year anniversary of the disatrious hurricane Katrina, I decided to spend my 24th birthday weekend in a city I had heard so much buzz on. Ok, maybe it was just a coincidence that, I decided to go to New Orleans(NO) this year. Nonetheless, it was perfect timing to plan a trip out there. The weekend was meant for relaxing, food indulgement and culture immersion. The perfect way to start a new age.
Thursday night, I hopped on a 4hr megabus ride to Houston to meet up with my travel mate. Her and I have actually traveled together to Chicago so it would definitely be a swell time. We left for NO Friday morning and about 5hrs later, we had arrived our destination. We would be staying at the Hotel Villa Convento. A beautiful 1830s guest house in the French Quater. Our host was a lovely couple. A brit guy and his lovely boyfriend Warren. I thought they were very kind and outgoing; my type of people. After checking in, we rested and headed out to Dragos for dinner. The Oysters were amazing but I opted for a mix of seafood and steak. I had completed my 1 month of no meat or chicken so the steak tasted strange to my taste buds. After dinner, off to bourbon street we went to start off the weekend. The trip was marvelous and I captured a few images to share with you all.
Enjoy.
